Accrington Stanley striker Kayden Jackson has handed in a transfer request amid interest from Championship side Ipswich Town, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Ipswich are understood to have made several offers for Jackson, with the latest bid of £1.75million being rejected by Accrington.
Jackson has handed in the transfer request as he feels Accrington are being unreasonable with the asking price they are demanding for him.
The 24-year-old was instrumental in Accrington’s surprise League Two title success last season, with 16 goals and 16 assists in his debut campaign at the club.
A number of teams have been tracking Jackson this summer, but Ipswich have been leading the chase for him, with Town boss Paul Hurst a big admirer having worked with the player during his time in charge of Grimsby.
Jackson has just one year to run on his deal at the Wham Stadium, after joining on a two-year deal from Barnsley last summer for a nominal fee.
Accrington are reluctant to lose Jackson as they prepare for life in League One and it remains to be seen if Ipswich will come back with an improved offer before the transfer window closes later this month.
