Barnet caretaker manager Darren Currie has emerged on the radar of several Football League clubs following his impressive start to life in management, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Currie took over as caretaker boss of Barnet last month following John Still’s decision to retire and he has won three of his four games in charge, including a famous FA Cup win at Sheffield United.

Barnet are currently the lowest ranked side left in the FA Cup and they face another Championship side in the shape of Brentford in the fourth round.

Currie has been working under experienced manager Still for the last seven years as he learned the managerial trade.

Currie boasts a wealth of experience having made over 600 first-team appearances in a 20-year playing career.

The 44-year-old has been placed in caretaker charge at Barnet until the end of the season, but Barnet could face a battle to keep hold of Currie if he continues to enhance his growing reputation with more giant-killing in the FA Cup.
