HITC Sport understands Hull City are poised to sign Liam Ridgewell.

Free agent Liam Ridgewell has agreed a deal to join Hull City on a deal until the end of the season, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Ridgewell is available on a free transfer after leaving Major League Soccer side Portland Timbers earlier this month.
The 34-year-old spent five years in the United States and made 115 appearances for the club, helping them win the MLS Cup in 2015.
A number of teams have expressed an interest in signing Ridgewell, but Hull have moved quickly to agree a deal with the versatile defender.

Hull boss Nigel Adkins is keen to bolster his side’s defensive options for the second half of the season and he sees Ridgewell’s experience as a key addition to his young squad.
Ridgewell boasts a wealth of experience, having made over 350 first-team appearances in England during spells with Aston Villa, Birmingham, West Brom, Wigan and Brighton.
Hull are currently in 12th spot in the Championship table, just six points off the play-off places, and Adkins is looking to make Ridgewell the first of several new signings before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
