HITC Sport understands Hull City are closing in on Burton star.

Hull City are closing in on the signing of Burton Albion midfielder Jackson Irvine, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Irvine missed Burton’s draw with Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday after holding talks with Hull over a possible move to the KCOM Stadium.
A whole host of clubs have shown an interest in Irvine this summer, but so far Burton have managed to rebuff their overtures.

However, Hull are now in pole position to land the Australian international after being given permission to hold talks with the player over a potential deal.
Irvine impressed last season for Burton as he scored 10 goals from midfield and played an instrumental role in guiding the club to safety in their first season in the Championship.
The 24-year-old ironically scored and got sent off against Hull earlier this season, but Tigers boss Leonid Slutsky has seen enough in him to make a move to sign him.
Slutsky is desperate to bolster his squad before next week’s transfer deadline and he has money to spend from the sale of Sam Clucas to Swansea City earlier this week.
Irvine is seen as an ideal replacement for Clucas and, if he makes the move to Hull, he will become their tenth new signing of the summer.
