HITC Sport understands former Birmingham and Hull midfielder Bryan Hughes is set to become Wrexham’s new manager.

Wrexham are set to appoint former Birmingham and Hull midfielder Bryan Hughes as their new manager following the resignation of Graham Barrow earlier this week, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
As revealed by HITC Sport on Tuesday, Barrow was stepping down from his role as Wrexham manager after just six weeks in charge of the National League side.
The 64-year-old initially took interim charge of Wrexham following the departure of Sam Ricketts to Shrewsbury on December 3rd before landing the job on a permanent basis on December 18th.
After picking up two wins from his first three games in charge, Wrexham endured a miserable run of form in January losing five straight games before picking up a win against Maidenhead.

Wrexham are currently in fifth spot in the National League just four points behind league leaders Leyton Orient.
Former Wrexham midfielder Hughes is now set to become the club’s third manager of the season.
Hughes, whose only previous managerial experience was a brief spell at Scarborough, is set to be handed the task of trying to lead the club to promotion to League Two for the remainder of the season.
Hughes started his career at Wrexham and made 97 appearances for the club before joining Birmingham City in 1997.
