HITC Sport understands Huddersfield Town’s move for the World Cup winner could be off.

Huddersfield Town’s move for Borussia Dortmund defender Erik Durm is in danger of falling through, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Huddersfield had lined up a move for full-back Durm, with Terriers boss David Wagner a big admirer of the player from his time working at Dortmund.
Durm, who was part of Germany’s World Cup winning squad in 2014, has endured two injury-hit seasons for Dortmund and has hardly figured for the club.

Dortmund are willling to let Durm move on and Huddersfield were happy to offer him the chance to get his career back on track, having agreed a deal in principle with the German club.
Durm travelled to England earlier this week for talks over a move to Huddersfield, but HITC Sport understands the 26-year-old has not been able to agree terms with the Premier League club.

The news is a blow for Huddersfield as Durm is capable of playing at left-back or right-back, as a wing-back or even in a wide midfield role and he would have offered great versatility to Wagner’s options.
It means Wagner will have to look elsewhere to bring in a new full-back unless a deal for Durm can be resurrected.
