HITC Sport understands Huddersfield agree deal for full-back

Huddersfield Town are on the verge of signing Barnsley defender Andy Yiadom, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
The Premier League new boys have agreed a fee with Barnsley for Yiadom and the player have been given the green light to travel to Huddersfield for talks and a medical.
Yiadom only joined Barnsley last summer from Barnet and he impressed at Oakwell.
The Ghana international made 32 appearances in the Championship last season and his performances brought him to the attention of a number of Premier League clubs.
Swansea City were hoping to bring in Yiadom to bolster their defensive ranks before the close of the transfer window, but Huddersfield have moved in quickly to agree a deal for the 25-year-old.
Barnsley were reluctant to lose Yiadom, but with the player entering the final year of his contract and turning down the offer of a new deal they have decided to sell the defender rather than risk letting him run down his contract.

Should Yiadom come through his medical successfully he will become Huddersfield’s 11th signing in this summer’s transfer window as they prepare for life in the Premier League.
Yiadom is set to go straight into David Wagner’s squad for this weekend’s Premier League opener at Crystal Palace.
