HITC Sport understands Inverness are set to sign former Motherwell defender.
Motherwell’s Louis Laing in action with Rangers’ Kenny Miller
Former Nottingham Forest and Motherwell defender Louis Laing has agreed a deal to join Inverness Caledonian Thistle, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Laing is currently a free agent after cancelling his contract at Motherwell by mutual consent earlier this month following his return from a successful loan spell at Notts County.
The 23-year-old made 27 appearances during his loan stint at Notts County and he decided to cancel his contract as he did not feel he would get many first-team opportunities upon his return to Motherwell.
A number of clubs in England and Scotland have expressed an interest in the former England youth international, but Inverness have moved quickly to agree a deal to bring the centre-back to the Caledonian Stadium on a deal until the end of the season.

Inverness boss Richie Foran is desperate to bolster his squad, especially his defence, after seeing them lose 6-0 to Celtic in the Scottish Cup last weekend.
