HITC Sport understands Nottingham Forest are set to beat Queens Park Rangers to Huddersfield defender Michael Hefele.

Nottingham Forest have hijacked Queens Park Rangers’s move for Huddersfield Town defender Michael Hefele, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
QPR boss Steve McClaren thought he had won the race for German defender Hefele as he looks to bolster his defensive options, but Forest have moved late to lure Hefele to the City Ground.
Hefele is currently undergoing a medical at Forest and is expected to sign a three-year deal at the City Ground.
Hefele is entering the final year of his contract at Huddersfield and the Terriers are willing to let him leave.

The 27-year-old found himself down the pecking order at Huddersfield last season, making just six appearances all campaign, and the permanent signing of last season’s loan star Terence Kongolo has further increased competition for places in David Wagner’s side.
The 27-year-old was a key member of the Huddersfield side that won promotion to the Premier League in the 2016/17 season, and Forest boss Aitor Karanka feels his Championship experience would be a valuable addition to his squad.
