Hull City risk losing out on FC Sion striker Moussa Konate after Espanyol made a move for the Senegal international, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Konate, 23, has been a target for a number of Premier League teams over the last few years after impressing for club and country.
The Senegal international scored 22 goals in 33 games for Sion last season in all competitions and has netted seven times in 16 appearances for his nation.
Konate joined Sion from Kuban Krasnodar two years ago and is considered one of the most promising young strikers in Europe.
Hull made a bid for Konate earlier this month, but the deal has stalled with the club still yet to make their first signing of the summer.
The news has alerted a number of other clubs looking to bring in striking reinforcements and Espanyol are now ready to offer Konate the chance to move to Spain.
Espanyol are looking to add to their squad before Wednesday’s transfer deadline and they could steal a march on their rivals by making a late move for Konate.
