HITC Sport understands Sheffield United striker targeted by Scunthorpe and Mansfield

Sheffield United striker James Hanson is a target for Scunthorpe United and Mansfield Town, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Hanson is down the pecking order at Bramall Lane with Billy Sharp and Leon Clarke the first-choice strike pairing in Chris Wilder’s first-team plans.
The 29-year-old joined United last January from Bradford City and helped the club win promotion to the Championship.
However, with his first-team opportunities looking limited in the Championship a number of clubs have been monitoring his situation.
Sheffield United are in no rush to sell Hanson, but they will consider offers if they get back what they paid for the forward in January.
Scunthorpe are long-term admirers of Hanson having come up against him on numerous occasions while he was in League One with Bradford and they have made enquiries about his availability.

Ambitious League Two outfit Mansfield have held talks with Sheffield United to see if they would consider selling the giant striker.
Stags boss Steve Evans is understood to be a big fan of the targetman and sees him as someone who could grab the goals to fire his side to promotion this season.
His agent, Clive Hart, was unavailable for comment when asked about Hanson’s future at Sheffield United.
