HITC Sport understands Derby defender Alex Pearce is set to join Millwall

Millwall are poised to sign defender Alex Pearce from Championship rivals Derby County, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Pearce has found himself out of the picture at Derby this season with his only appearance coming as a substitute on the opening weekend of the season in August.
The Republic of Ireland international is well down the pecking order in Frank Lampard’s plans and he is happy to let move on.
Pearce has made 58 appearances for Derby since joining on a free transfer from Reading in the summer of 2015, but he has been unable to firmly establish himself at Pride Park.
The 30-year-old boasts a wealth of experience having made over 300 first-team appearances in his career and he is keen to be playing regularly at this stage of his career.

Millwall boss Neil Harris is keen to strengthen his defensive options in this month’s transfer window and he sees Pearce as a key addition to his plans for the second half of the season.
The Lions have one of the worst defensive records in the Championship this season and currently sit six points and three places above the relegation zone.
