Derby County and Rotherham United are lining up beat-the-deadline moves for Scunthorpe United winger Duane Holmes, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Holmes impressed for Scunthorpe last season helping them reach the League One play-offs, scooping the club’s player of the year award.
The skilful attacker scored nine goals and provided five assists in 54 appearances and his performances have not gone unnoticed higher up the football pyramid.
Holmes came off the bench to inspire Scunthorpe to their 2-1 win over Coventry City on the opening day of the new season last weekend.
The 23-year-old is in the final year of his contract at Scunthorpe and the Iron are bracing themselves for interest before the transfer window closes.

American-born Holmes came through the youth ranks at Huddersfield Town and made 26 first-team appearances before leaving in 2016 for Scunthorpe.
