HITC Sport understands Huddersfield striker Jordy Hiwula is closing in on a move to Coventry City.
Coventry City are lining up a move for highly-rated Huddersfield Town striker Jordy Hiwula , HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Hiwula joined Huddersfield in the summer of 2015 from Manchester City but has made only one substitute appearance for the Terriers in 2015-16.
The 23-year-old has had four loan spells away from Huddersfield during his time at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Hiwula is well down the pecking order at Huddersfield and the Premier League side are ready to sell him rather than loan him again as he is in the final year of his contract.
Hiwula has impressed during his stints out on loan, scoring twice in 14 league appearances for Wigan, seven of them from the bench, as well as adding four more goals in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy before moving to Walsall, where he scored three goals in 16 outings for the Saddlers.
In the 2016/17 season he scored 12 goals for Bradford City as they reached the League One play-off final, and last season he netted 13 goals in 28 starts for Fleetwood.
Coventry boss Mark Robins is looking to bolster his attacking options before the close of the transfer window after losing last season’s top scorer Marc McNulty to Reading earlier this summer.
Robins is a big admirer of Hiwula and he sees him as a key addition to his plans as he is a proven goal-scorer at League One level.
