HITC Sport understands a host of Football League clubs are chasing Stockport sensation Matty Warburton.

A number of League One and League Two clubs are weighing up moves for prolific Stockport County star Matty Warburton, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Warburton is regarded as one of the best players outside the Football League having scored 40 goals in the last calendar year and his goalscoring exploits for Stockport in the National League North have brought him to the attention of clubs higher up the football pyramid.
The former Salford and Curzon Ashton attacker has scored nine goals in his last four games, including four against Truro City in the FA Trophy earlier this month and a hat-trick against York City in the the National League North at the weekend.
Warburton’s red-hot form has been instrumental in lifting Stockport into second spot in the National League North as they try and win promotion back to the National League.
Warburton enhanced his growing reputation by proving he can mix it against Football League opposition after scoring in the FA Cup win over Yeovil in November.

Scouts from a number of League One and League Two clubs are expected to watch Warburton in action against Leamington on Tuesday night as they weigh up moves for the free-scoring forward before the close of the transfer window.
Stockport are bracing themselves for offers for Warburton and they are unlikely to stand in his way if he is offered the chance to move to the Football League.
