HITC Sport understands Barnsley are on the verge of signing Coventry forward Conor Chaplin.

Barnsley are poised to sign Coventry City forward Conor Chaplin with the player undergoing a medical at Oakwell, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Championship new boys Barnsley have been chasing Chaplin all summer and after seeing several bids rejected by Coventry they have finally agreed a fee for the skilful attacker.
Barnsley have held a long-term interest in Chaplin and tried to sign the 22-year-old last summer prior to his move to Coventry from Portsmouth.
Chaplin scored eight goals and registered three assists in 33 appearances for Coventry last season and his form has brought him to the attention of a number of clubs this summer.

Chaplin can play anywhere across the frontline and his versatility makes him an attractive proposition to Barnsley boss Daniel Stendel as he looks to finalise his squad before the close of the transfer window next month.
Coventry have reluctantly agreed to let Chaplin move to the Championship and the player is expected to sign a four-year deal at Barnsley once he comes through his medical.
