HITC Sport understands a number of Championship clubs are tracking Scottish striker.
Several Championship sides are eyeing a move for highly-rated Dundee United striker Simon Murray, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Murray has impressed at Dundee United this season, with 11 goals in 28 games in all competitions.
Moldovan side Sheriff Tiraspol have made a bid of £40,000 for Murray, but Dundee United have rejected the offer as they are holding out for a fee in the region of £250,000 for the former Arbroath forward.

Murray is out of contract at the end of the season and Dundee United risk losing him for nothing if they decide against selling him during this month’s transfer window.
A number of Championship sides, including Barnsley are understood to be monitoring Murray’s contract situation aware that they might be able to land the forward for a cut-price fee before the transfer window closes next week.
Murray’s suitors are also considering the option of signing Murray on a pre-contract deal and taking the player on a free transfer when his contract expires.
Dundee United would be loathe to lose the striker for nothing in the summer and could be forced to cash-in on him this month.
