Bristol City are on the verge of signing defender Jack Hunt from Championship rivals Sheffield Wednesday, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Hunt has established himself as one of the best right-backs in the Championship after impressing at Wednesday and former club Huddersfield.

Hunt was entering the final year of his contract at Wednesday and Bristol City have moved to lure the defender away from Hillsborough.

The two clubs are understood to be in advanced talks over a deal and the move could be completed inside the next 24 hours.
