HITC Sport understands Brighton defender set for Ipswich loan move.

Brighton & Hove Albion defender Connor Goldson is poised to join Championship side Ipswich Town on loan, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Goldson is currently fourth-choice centre-back in Chris Hughton’s pecking order at the Amex Stadium behind Shane Duffy, Lewis Dunk and Uwe Hunemeier.
Goldson joined Brighton from Shrewsbury Town in 2015 and he still has another three years to run on his contract at the club.
Goldson is highly regarded at Brighton, but they feel he would be best served by going out on loan to get some regular first-team football.

The 24-year-old is back playing after missing most of the second half of last season following preventive heart surgery last February.
Goldson is now back to full fitness and he started their League Cup win over Barnet earlier this month, playing the full 90 minutes.
A number of Championship clubs have expressed an interest in signing Goldson on loan, but Ipswich have moved quickly to agree a deal with Brighton for the central defender.
Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy is keen to build on his side’s impressive start to the new Championship campaign and sees Goldson as a key addition to his plans at Portman Road.
