HITC Sport understands Brighton plan move for long-term target Judge.
Alan Judge celebrates after scoring for Brentford
Brighton & Hove Albion are lining up a move for Brentford midfielder Alan Judge this summer, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Brighton have held a long-term interest in the talented Republic of Ireland international and considered a move for Judge in the January transfer window even though the attacking midfielder was recovering from injury.
Judge is closing in on a return to action from the broken leg injury he suffered in a game at Ipswich last April.
The 28-year-old was in superb form for Brentford prior to his injury with 14 goals in 38 appearances to make him one of the most in-demand players outside the Premier League.

Judge’s contract at Brentford is up the summer and as yet no new deal has been agreed at Griffin Park alerting Judge’s suitors to his possible availability on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Brentford are reluctant to lose Judge on a free transfer this summer, but know they face a battle to keep him with other clubs waiting in the wings to offer him a move elsewhere.
Brighton boss Chris Hughton is thought to be a big fan of Judge and sees him as a key addition to his plans whether the Seagulls win promotion to the Premier League or not.
