Crystal Palace winger Sullay Kaikai is poised to join Brentford, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Derby and Ipswich Town have been credited with an interest in Kaikai, but Brentford have moved quickly to agree a loan deal for the skilful winger.

Brentford boss Dean Smith has been searching for a new winger during this summer’s transfer window and he has switched his attentions to Kaikai after seeing a bid for Chesterfield attacker Gboly Ariyibi turned down.

Kaikai is highly regarded within the corridors of power at Selhurst Park after joining the club’s academy at the age of 15.

The skilful winger has worked his way up to the fringes of the first team and made his debut in the Capital One Cup two seasons ago, scoring in the 3-2 defeat to Newcastle United and he made his Premier League debut in the final game of last season against Southampton.

Kaikai is unlikely to break into Alan Pardew’s first team this season, and Palace are willing to let Kaikai to go out on loan this season so that he can get valuable first-team action and experience under his belt.

The 20-year-old has enjoyed he has enjoyed three loan spells at Crawley, Cambridge and Shrewsbury during the last two seasons and Palace are keen for Kaikai to now go on loan to a higher level so that he can continue his development and the news has alerted several Championship sides.
