HITC Sport understands Blackburn are close to double signing of Jack Rodwell and Harrison Reed.

Blackburn Rovers are closing in on the signing of former Sunderland midfielder Jack Rodwell on a free transfer and Southampton’s Harrison Reed on loan.
Rodwell is a free agent after cancelling his contract at Sunderland earlier this summer following an unhappy spell at the Stadium of Light.
A number of clubs at home and abroad have expressed an interest in Rodwell, but Blackburn are in pole position to land the 27-year-old after Rovers boss Tony Mowbray held talks with the player.
Former Everton midfielder Rodwell is keen to kick-start his career after an injury-hit spell at Sunderland and Blackburn are ready to offer him the chance to play Championship football.

Blackburn are also set to take Southampton midfielder Reed on loan as Mowbray looks to bolster his midfield options before the loan window closes next week.
Reed is well down the pecking order at St Mary’s and has not figured in their opening two Premier League games of the season.
The 23-year-old enjoyed a successful spell on loan at Norwich last season, where he made 43 appearances in all competitions for the Canaries.
Southampton are happy to loan out Reed again so that he can get regular first-team football this season and Blackburn are understood to have beaten off interest from a number of clubs to the former England Under-20 international.
