Birmingham City are set to make an improved bid for Ipswich Town goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski after seeing their first offer rejected, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Birmingham have made Polish international Bialkowski their top target this summer as they look to strengthen their goalkeeping options.
Blues boss Garry Monk is keen to bring in a new goalkeeper after informing David Stockdale and Tomasz Kuszczak that they are not part of his plans going forward at St Andrew’s.
Bialkowski, who was part of Poland’s World Cup squad, has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers outside the Premier League in recent seasons and has won Ipswich’s Player of the Season award for the last three years.
Ipswich are reluctant to lose Bialkowski this summer, despite the player entering the final year of his contract at Portman Road.
