Ravel Morrison is training at Birmingham with view to possible loan move from Lazio.

Former Manchester United prodigy Morrison has linked up with Birmingham for pre-season training as he looks for a new club with Lazio willing to offload the former England Under-21 international.

Morrison has not played for Lazio since April 2016 and it appears he does not have a long-term future in the Italian capital.

The skilful attacker has started just one game for Lazio since joining the club on a free transfer from West Ham United in 2015.

The 24-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Queens Park Rangers, but he only made five appearances during his time at Loftus Road.

QPR opted against making Morrison’s move permanent and he now finds himself searching for a new club to get his career back on track.

Birmingham boss Harry Redknapp has offered Morrison the chance to win a move to St Andrews by inviting him to train with the first-team.

Redknapp knows all about Morrison having worked with the player during his time in charge of QPR and he confirmed to the club’s official website he is having a look at the player.

“Ravel’s come in and he’s going to be training with us for a few days so we can have a look at him. That’s it really,” said Redknapp.

Morrison has one-year left on his current deal at Lazio and sources have told HITC Sport that any move to Birmingham is likely to be a loan deal if he impresses Redknapp in training.

Morrison enjoyed a spell at Birminghamduring the 2012/13 campaign when he played 30 games on loan when Lee Clark was in charge.
