HITC Sport understands Birmingham City are closing in on the loan signing of Cardiff striker Omar Bogle.

Cardiff City striker Omar Bogle is poised to join Birmingham City on loan, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Bogle had been linked with a move to Ipswich Town earlier this month, but it appears Birmingham have moved ahead of them in the race to secure the forward’s signature.
Ipswich boss Paul Hurst was keen to be reunited with Bogle having worked with him while he was Grimsby manager, but Birmingham have firmed up their interest in the player.
HITC Sport understands Birmingham boss Garry Monk had held talks with Bogle and is hopeful of bringing the the 25-year-old to St Andrew’s.
Birmingham are restricted to bringing in loan signings during the transfer window and Bogle fits the bill as Cardiff are willing to send him out in a temporary deal.

Bogle joined Cardiff for £1million from Wigan last summer but he struggled to establish himself in Neil Warnock’s first-team plans at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Bogle scored three goals in 12 appearances in the first half of last season before joining League One Peterborough for the second half of the campaign, where he scored once in nine appearances.
The former Grimsby striker is well down the pecking order in Warnock’s plans as he prepares for life back in the Premier League, and the Cardiff boss is happy to loan him out so he can play regular first-team football.
