Luton Town’s Stephen O’Donnell celebrates scoring their fifth goal with Cameron McGeehan
Barnsley have agreed a fee with Luton to sign midfielder Cameron McGeehan despite the midfielder being injured, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
McGeehan is currently recovering from a broken leg he sustained last month against Portsmouth in League Two.
Up until the injury McGeehan had been one of the standout performers in League Two with a number of impressive performances for Luton , scoring 11 goals in 28 appearances.
Former Fulham and Chelsea youngster McGeehan came through the ranks at Norwich City and captained the side to their FA Youth Cup success in 2012-13, scoring in both legs of the final against Chelsea.
However, McGeehan never broke into the Norwich first-team and had two loan spells at Luton and one at Cambridge before joining the Hatters on a permanent basis in the summer of 2015.

McGeehan has gone on to establish himself as a key player at Luton and is regarded as one the best young midfielders in the lower leagues.
Luton are reluctant to lose McGeehan, but Barnsley have moved quickly to agree a deal for the midfielder and have shown their faith in the player by pushing through a deal despite his injury.
