Barnsley are weighing up a move for Swansea City attacker Ryan Hedges, sources close to the club have told HITC Sport.
Hedges is currently on loan at Yeovil Town and the Wales international has impressed during his temporary stint at the League One club.
The 21-year-old has scored five goals in 28 appearances for Yeovil so far this season and his displays at Huish Park have brought him to the attention of clubs higher up the football pyramid.
Hedges has yet to make his first-team debut for Swansea, but he is highly-regarded within the corridors of power at the Liberty Stadium.
Hedges, who can play on either wing or up front, has enjoyed spells out on loan at Leyton Orient, Stevenage and now Yeovil during the last two seasons so that he can get valuable first-team experience under his belt.
Barnsley boss Paul Heckingbottom is determined to bolster his squad before the close of the transfer window after losing a number of his star performers this month, with Sam Winnall joining Sheffield Wednesday and Conor Hourihane and James Bree moving to Aston Villa.
