HITC Sport understands Middlesbrough star’s future is in doubt after row with manager in Austria

Britt Assombalonga’s future at Middlesbrough is in doubt following a training ground row with manager Tony Pulis, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the situation.
Assombalonga and Pulis are understood to have clashed on Monday during training at Boro’s pre-season training camp in Austria.
The pair exchanged words after a disagreement on the training pitch and the relationship between both men is understood to be strained.

The incident is sure to lead to speculation over Assombalonga’s long-term future at Middlesbrough just 12 months after arriving from Nottingham Forest in a club record deal.
Assombalonga scored 15 goals in 34 starts for Middlesbrough last season as they just missed out promotion, losing in the play-off semi-finals to Aston Villa.
After a bright start to the season the 25-year-old struggled to hold down a regular place in the Boro side following the arrival of Tony Pulis in late December.

Assombalonga scored only three goals under the stewardship of Pulis after scoring 12 goals in the first half of the capaign under former manager Garry Monk.
News of Assombalonga’s bust-up with Pulis is sure to alert a number of clubs to his possible availability as they look to bolster their attacking options this summer.
