HITC Sport understands Aberdeen are set to sign League One midfielder.

Aberdeen are closing in on the signing of Peterborough midfielder Chris Forrester, HITC Sport understands.
Forrester was placed on the transfer list at Peterborough at the end of the season after they missed out on the League One play-offs.
The Irishman was enterting the final year of his contract at Peterborough and the club decided to listen to offers for him this summer as they plan a major rebuild of the squad at London Road.

Forrester made 38 appearances in all competitions for Peterborough this season and he is regarded as one of the best midfield operators in the Football League.
The 25-year-old joined Peterborough in 2015 after catching the eye in the League of Ireland with St Pat’s.

Forrester quickly established himself as a key player in the Peterborough side and he was handed the captaincy at the club for a period before having it taken off him last year.
A number of clubs have been weighing up moves for Forrester, but Aberdeen are hoping to steal a march on their rivals by luring the midfield schemer to Scotland.
