John Marquis in action for Doncaster Rovers
Doncaster Rovers have rejected several bids from Aberdeen and Peterborough United for star striker John Marquis, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Marquis is regarded as one of the best strikers in the Football League after impressing during the last couple of seasons at Doncaster Rovers.
The prolific forward scored 26 goals in his debut season for Doncaster to propel them to promotion to League One and he was named League Two player of the year.

Marquis followed that up with 15 goals and six assists last season as Doncaster consolidated themselves back in League One.
The 26-year-old’s form has not gone unnoticed among other clubs, as they look to bolster their own attacking options this summer.
Doncaster are understood to have bids of £500,000 and £750,000 from Aberdeen and Peterborough for Marquis.

Aberdeen have been busy reshaping their squad this summer as they look to challenge Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title next season, and they see Marquis as someone who can score goals for them.
Peterborough are in the market for striking reinforcements as they seek a replacement for the in-demand Jack Marriott who is being chased by a host of Championship clubs and they see Marquis as a possible ideal replacement.
Doncaster are reluctant to lose their prize asset as they plan ahead for next season, but they are bracing themselves for further offers for their top scorer this summer.
