Pontus Jansson is reportedly set to leave Leeds United this summer and join a Championship rival.

Peter Jansson has taken to Twitter to suggest that Pontus Jansson’s relationship with Andrea Radrizzani will remain positive despite reports suggesting that the defender is on the verge of leaving Leeds this summer.

The Yorkshire Evening Post has suggested that Jansson is closing in on a £5.5 million move to Brentford. Given the fee involved and the club set to sign him, the fans have had a lot of questions about the situation.

Had he headed to a Premier League side for any eight-figure fee, there is likely to have been a much smaller percentage of supporters wanting in-depth answers regarding his exit.

But the reportedly-imminent move hints that a quick resolution was wanted, leaving supporters to desperately seek clarity regarding why the board have decided to sell one of their most important players for what appears to be a bargain fee.

It led to a video resurfacing over the weekend which showed the Leeds players leaving the pitch after their agonising 1-0 loss at Queens Park Rangers last season with Radrizzani down by the tunnel to embrace each member of the squad as they went by.

It was noted that Jansson appears to be in no mood to stop – which is understandable given the result – and some appeared to believe that that was some hint that the relationship between the two men had broken down, now culminating in a move away.

But when Pontus’ brother Peter was sent a tweet regarding the video, he insisted that there was nothing in the incident and that the Sweden international will leave the club on good terms.
