The brother of former Leeds United star Pontus Jansson might’ve just taken a swipe at Marcelo Bielsa on Twitter.

Jansson left Leeds to join Brentford on Monday night.

The transfer seemed to happen suddenly, within a matter of days and it’s been reported that Whites boss Bielsa felt that the Swede’s departure would benefit the team.

One United fan posted on Twitter that Jansson and Bielsa are too alike in terms of personality to co-exist in the same club.

And Peter Jansson, firmly on his brother’s side throughout this saga, responded with a suggestion that the Argentine coach wasn’t as ‘mature’ as he could have been over the situation.

Jansson publicly frustrated the Leeds boss toward the end of last season when he disobeyed Bielsa’s orders to let Aston Villa walk in an equaliser, following a controversial opener by Mateusz Klich minutes earlier.

But according to The Mirror, there was hostility long before that and even stems back to last summer, with the report claiming that Bielsa had doubts about the 28-year-old from day one of arriving in West Yorkshire.

Jansson was a popular figure among fans of the Elland Road club and if Leeds don’t improve as a result of ditching the former Malmo star – who was training with the Swedish side this summer after being told to stay away from Thorp Arch – then the 63-year-old has a lot to answer for.
