Leeds fans will have to wait a little while longer before their new hero becomes a permanent fixture.
This weekend it was reported that Leeds United’s move to bring Pontus Jansson to the club from Torino permanently was on the verge of completion.
It was understood that Jansson would become a Leeds player for £3.5 million, once he played 20 games for the club. He hit that landmark against Rotherham United at the weekend and it was quickly suggested the deal was on the cusp of completion – as reported by Sky Sports.

But that does not seem to be the case at all.
Leeds fans, don’t panic. It seems he is merely two games away from meeting the tally necessary to become a Leeds player.
His agent Martin Dahlin has confirmed in the Swedish press that the tally is in fact 22 games. He told Fotboll Skanalen:
“There are 22 games in force, then Pontus will be a Leeds player.”

The report suggests terms are already agreed for a deal to go through as soon as Jansson plays his 22nd game for the club.
So whilst there may be a slight delay to the inevitable, the immensely popular Jansson still looks set to become a fully-fledged Leeds United player by the end of the month.
