Leeds’ Pontus Jansson celebrates scoring their first goal
The agent of Leeds United star Pontus Jansson has made it clear that there is growing interest in the Swedish centre-back’s services.
Kvalls Posten reported today that big Premier League clubs such as Chelsea, Liverpool, Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur were all considering making a move for the player in the summer.
The same paper also carried quotes from his agent, the former Blackburn Rovers striker Martin Dahlin, in which he admitted that Jansson’s desire was to be playing in the Premier League next season:
“I can not comment on specific clubs it is clear that Pontus season has meant that interest is constantly increasing.
“He has set his sights on playing in the Premier League next season, that much I can say. But right now he focuses solely on Leeds.”
Jansson has immediately made himself a cult hero at Elland Road with his excellent performances for the club and his bullish attitude off the pitch.
However, his desire to play in the Premier League with Leeds has taken a blow recently – with a dip in form seeing Garry Monk’s side slip out of the Championship top six.

He joined the club on loan from Italian side Torino in the summer but made that move permanent in the winter window.
But if Leeds fail to secure promotion to the Premier League this season it appears increasingly likely that they will struggle to hold on to their super Swede.
