This evening’s clash between Leeds United and Bristol city sees one of the Championship’s best centre-backs come up against one of the division’s most exciting – and prolific – young strikers.

Pontus Jansson has been superb for Leeds since arriving on loan in the summer, while Bristol City pulled off a masterstroke by signing Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham on a temporary deal.

Already the 18-year-old has scored 10 goals in just 12 appearances for City, including seven in nine in the league, and he will be hoping to keep that record going when he comes up against a Leeds defence that is starting to look like the real deal.

That was not the case at the start of the season, but Jansson has now settled and is developing a fine partnership with fellow loanee Kyle Bartley.

The two have ensured Leeds build from the back, recently helping them go on a four-match winning streak, but they will have to be at their best to keep Abraham at bay.

Abraham scores from nearly every other shot he has in the league while Jansson is a beast when it comes to effective clearances, averaging more than 14 a game (7.5 with his feet and 6.75 with his head).

The Leeds man also averages nearly double the amount of won duels as the City youngster, and with Abraham being something of a fox in the box that could be the key to who comes out on top this evening.
