Leeds United’s players voted for Liam Cooper to captain them this season.
Pontus Jansson has hailed Liam Cooper as a true captain of Leeds United on social media website Twitter.
Many supporters were left shocked when Cooper was handed the captain’s armband by Leeds, ahead of Jansson at the start of the campaign.
However, the Swedish defender appears to have no issues with the decision, which was made by Leeds’ players.
And he has hailed Cooper’s leadership quality with a public message yesterday evening.
Cooper was seen delivering a message to Leeds’ team, after they had picked up a 2-0 victory over Sunderland at the weekend.
The Whites won at the Stadium of Light to extend their impressive start to the season.
Leeds are unbeaten in their first five competitive matches, and confidence is building at Elland Road.
Leeds scored their goals against Sunderland through Samu Saiz and Stuart Dallas, and they looked comfortable throughout.
Thomas Christiansen’s side are next in action tomorrow, when they take on Newport County in the League Cup.
