Pontus Jansson was reacting to the news that Barry Douglas will miss the rest of Leeds United’s season.

Pontus Jansson has taken to Twitter to send an emotional message to Barry Douglas after the Leeds full-back was ruled out for the rest of the season due to injury.

Douglas struggled through the latter stages of the Whites’ dramatic win against Millwall on Saturday after a collision with Jed Wallace. There were then worrying reports after the game that the left-back had left Elland Road wearing a brace.

And unfortunately for Marcelo Bielsa, the club have confirmed on their official website that Douglas will play no further part in this season after rupturing the medial ligament in his knee.

Douglas is set to be sidelined for between two and three months, so will be unable to contribute on the pitch to the Whites’ promotion charge in the Championship.

And following the news, Jansson took to social media to send a message to the former Wolves ace…

It is a blow for Leeds to lose Douglas. He may have struggled to rediscover the form that made his departure from Molineux last summer seem such a surprise and had not regained his place from Gjanni Alioski, but he has still provided five assists in the league this season.

He reminded the fans of his quality at the weekend with a delicious cross for Luke Ayling’s equaliser that set the stage for Pablo Hernandez to go on and score the winner that sent Leeds back into the top two.
