Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has taken to social networking site Twitter to urge the fans to get Elland Road packed for each and every game from now on.

The 26-year-old centre-back, who joined Leeds on a season-long loan deal from Italian club Torino in the summer of 2016, made the plea to the supporters following the match against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday afternoon.

The Whites got the better of Yorkshire rivals Wednesday 1-0 at Elland Road in the Championship, thanks to Chris Wood’s goal in the 24th minute.

There were over 35,000 spectators at Elland Road for the match, and Jansson, who will make his move to Leeds permanent in the summer transfer window, has urged the fans on Twitter to fill the stadium for all of the home matches from now on.

Leeds are going strong in the Championship and are genuine contenders for the playoffs this season.

It would come as a massive surprise if the West Yorkshire outfit fail to end up in the top four this campaign.

The Whites have a loyal and strong fanbase, and the supporters will play a key role in the team’s progress in the coming weeks and months.
