Leeds United’s Pontus Jansson is not seriously hurt, it would seem.
Pontus Jansson has told LUTV that he is “okay” after being forced off in Leeds United’s 4-2 defeat by Eibar.
The Sweden centre-back was hauled off by head coach Thomas Christiansen within 12 minutes of the restart in Austria following a rough challenge which left him limping.
Leeds are 11 days from their Championship opener away to Bolton Wanderers and the last thing they need is an injury to one of their best players.
But Jansson has appeased fears over his condition by revealing to LUTV that his withdrawal was merely a precautionary measure.
“I’m okay. I’m a little bit tired. I had a pain in my head and my stomach and I got a kick on my leg. I wasn’t 100 per cent so it was better to go out,” he said.
The 26-year-old defender is suspended for Leeds’ first two-games but fans of the Whites will be glad to hear that he is fine.
Jansson was a machine for United last season and LEeds fans will be hoping to see more of the same from him next term.
