Whites star Pontus Jansson spoke to reporters ahead of his side’s vitally important clash with Norwich City on Saturday, and offered a potential reason why he an his teammates have struggled in recent weeks, whilst commenting on his future, as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Leeds currently sit in seventh position in the Championship table, three points adrift of sixth placed Fulham, after going on a horrendous run that has seen them win just once in their last six league outings.
And Jansson highlighted how his side should have been slightly more ambitious, following their 2-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion in mid March, as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post:
“Maybe that’s the only thing we’ve done wrong this season (not aiming for the top-two). If we do not reach the play-offs then I will not see this season as successful.”

The Swede then went on to discuss his future at Elland Road, insisting that he is happy at the club:
“My future is in Leeds, of course. I am proud to be here. You can see how happy I am to play here.”
If Leeds are to have any chance whatsoever of forcing their way inside the top six, they will need to win both of their remaining games, and in order to do that, the 26-year-old former Malmo star will have to be at his very best.
And one can’t help but think that the latest rumours linking him with an exit have not helped matters one little bit.
