Pontus Jansson and Pawel Cibicki were amongst the Leeds players who took to Twitter after their 1-0 win over Norwich that moves Thomas Christiansen’s men to within one point of the Championship’s top six.

Leeds went into the game off the back of an impressive 3-1 victory away at Queens Park Rangers last weekend, and they managed to make it back to back victories as Jansson broke the deadlock with a deft header following a brilliant Pawel Cibicki free-kick four minutes before the interval.

With Sheffield United losing away at Preston North End, the win at Elland Road means that the Whites are now just one point off the play-off spots, and with Aston Villa hosting the Blades next weekend, Leeds know that a victory over Hull will see them spend Christmas in the top six.

Unsurprisingly, there was plenty of positivity coming from the players on social media after the win – especially from the goalscorer and the man who provided the goal.

It has been a difficult season at times for Jansson and has certainly been a tough adjustment for Cibicki – who was making his first league start in the game against the Canaries – so it was no surprise that they were both keen to celebrate the victory.

Meanwhile, Kemar Roofe and Luke Ayling also commented on the win. It was certainly not one that will be remembered particularly fondly when Leeds reflect on the season at the end of the campaign, and that was perhaps best summed up by Roofe’s tweet when he suggested that it was a horrible win for Christiansen’s men.

Leeds will be hoping to make it three wins on the spin when they face the Tigers at Elland Road next Saturday.
