Leeds United produced a stunning result on Saturday afternoon as they beat Manchester City 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

Stuart Dallas put Leeds ahead after they had withstood some major City pressure, but Liam Cooper’s red card on the stroke of half time made life difficult.

Ferran Torres did bring City level, but the 10 men from Elland Road somehow found it within them to go and win the game with another Dallas goal.

Leeds had just 28% of possession, only two shots – both found the net. This was a departure from Leeds’ usual style, but nobody will care.

This was a memorable win for the Whites, and all connected with the club will have been buzzing with the victory.

In fact, former Leeds defender Pontus Jansson – once a fan favourite in West Yorkshire – took to Twitter to celebrate.

Jansson had a great day; his Brentford side thrashed Preston 5-0, and boyhood club Malmo claimed a last-gasp win over Hammarby.

The Swede celebrated a great performance from his ‘friends at Leeds’, showing that he still pays close attention to the club despite being sold almost two years ago now.
