Leeds United’s Pontus Jansson has moved to quell rumours of a bust-up with Kyle Bartley.
Pontus Jansson celebrates scoring the second goal for Leeds United
Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has taken to Twitter to post a photo of himself alongside team-mate Kyle Bartley amid rumours about the pair.
Jansson, 26, has been one of the stars of Leeds’ season so far, as his superb performances since signing on loan from Torino have made him a favourite at Elland Road.
The Swedish centre back, who celebrated his birthday on Monday, is set to join the club permanently at the end of the season after the club agreed to exercise a purchase clause in his loan deal.
His displays have been excellent throughout the season, and his absence was notable on Saturday afternoon as he missed the 2-0 home defeat to Cardiff City with an illness.
However, many fans suggested that the illness line was a cover from the club, as rumours spread that Jansson had actually been involved in a training ground bust-up with centre back partner Kyle Bartley.
The duo have formed an excellent partnership since arriving last summer, helping Leeds boast one of the division’s best defensive records this term.

Leeds boss Garry Monk told the press on Monday that Jansson had recovered from his illness in time to make the squad for tonight’s clash with Bristol City, which suggested that the rumours weren’t true, before Jansson put them to bed on Monday night.
Jansson took to Twitter to post a photo of himself alongside Bartley, stating that they would only ever fight together, prompting ecstatic responses from Leeds fans – as well as a little relief.
