Leeds United narrowly failed to finish in the top six of the Championship last season.

The West Yorkshire outfit were in the running for a place in the top six of the Championship last season until the final few weeks.
It was one of the Whites’ best seasons in the Championship in years, but the way the team struggled towards the end was quite disappointing.
Leeds defender Jansson was quite confident of the team finishing in the top two, as quoted by The Yorkshire Evening Post in March and April.
The 26-year-old Sweden international centre-back, who is hugely popular among the Leeds supporters and is a fans’ favourite, has admitted that speaking about promotion was premature.

“I think last year the biggest mistake was when we started talking about the play-offs and promotion and how many points we needed to be in the play-offs,” Jansson told The Yorkshire Evening Post.
“It is a dangerous mistake to do that and I think this year we have to be clever. We have to work game by game, and three points in the next game is the only focus we should have.
“I think that was the biggest mistake when I look back at last season. I remember after the Brighton game we had too much focus on how many points we are going to need to be in the play-offs.
“Everybody said 75 points is going to be enough and it wasn’t so I think this year we have to be a bit more clever to take it game by game.”

Leeds have started the 2017-18 Championship strongly and are among the favourites to finish in the top six.
Thomas Christiansen’s side are third in the league table at the moment with 11 points from five matches, just a point behind second-placed Ipswich Town.
