The big Swede officially joined Leeds United this summer.
Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has told Sky Sports that he will be even better for the Whites next season.
The 26-year-old was a revelation during his season-long loan from Torino last term.
Such was his excellent transition to English football, fans of the Yorkshire club were calling for a permanent deal to be wrapped up within weeks of his debut, and the move was made official earlier this month.
When it was put to him that he has a lot to live up to after a stellar first season, the Sweden international responded to Sky Sports: “I’ll be even better this year. I’ve been training really hard and I’ll train even harder this season.”
The prospect of Jansson being even better will surely delight Leeds fans, but who will be partnering him?
The towering centre-back was excellent alongside Kyle Bartley last term, but it remains to be seen whether United will re-sign the Swansea City man since his loan expired.
Regardless, although the duo complimented each other very well, Jansson is obviously an exceptional centre-half on his own and it will be interesting to see who Director of Football Victor Orta goes after to partner the big man next season.
