The 25-year-old joined Leeds United on loan during the summer.
Pontus Jansson has told Swedish outlet Skanesport that Leeds United’s assistant boss Pep Clotet has helped him enormously so far.
The 25-year-old joined the Whites on a season-long loan from Italian outfit Torino, and already looks to be a fine addition by manager Garry Monk.
Monk will of course get the credit for his signing, but Clotet may have played a big role not only in identifying the Swedish centre-back as a potential target, but his presence at Elland Road may have made Jansson’s decision that bit easier.
Clotet previously worked as an assistant manager at Malmo when Jansson was on the books until 2014, and the defender has suggested that the Spaniard has helped him a great deal in regards to adapting to life in Yorkshire.
He told Skanesport: “It has helped enormously that Pep is here. He has helped us a lot.”
He has proven himself a huge hit with Leeds fans so far, with his five starts for United yielding four victories.
He has slotted in seamlessly and Clotet, it seems,has played a big role in his excellent start to life with the Whites.
