Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has made a huge initial impression at Elland Road.
Pontus Jansson has told the FootballSkanelen Podcast that Leeds United are already in negotiations to sign him on a permanent transfer from Torino.
Jansson is currently on loan at Leeds from the Italian club, and he has made a huge initial impression at Elland Road.
Jansson’s commanding performances at the back have made him a cult hero at the Yorkshire club.
And the Swedish centre-back says that he is hoping to make his stay at Leeds a long-term one.
“It [a permanent transfer] is something I really want to happen,” Jansson said. “From what I understand they are already negotiating it.
“I have found my love for football again and I want to be settled as quickly as possible. I hope they do the deal before the games I have to play to make it happen.”
It has been reported by The Sun that Leeds will have to pay £3.6 million to land Jansson on a permanent deal, but it seems that they are trying to negotiate a price.
Leeds will be determined to keep hold of Jansson, as he has made a huge difference to their form.
Leeds have improved massively since Jansson has stepped into their backline, and they have won five of the seven matches that the 25-year-old has played in.
Leeds are now in 11th place in the Championship table, and they are only four places back from the play off spots.
