Leeds United are set to take on Derby County in the play-offs at the weekend.

Pontus Jansson has told Leeds Live that he cannot believe that some people are labelling Leeds United underdogs for their tie against Derby County.

Leeds go into the play offs in terrible form, but they have unquestionably been one of the strongest teams in the Championship this term.

The Whites finished three places above Derby in the regular season, but Frank Lampard’s men are the form side.

Derby have lost just once in their last 12 matches to make it into the top six.

But Jansson insists that Leeds should not be called underdogs in the tie.

“‘Underdogs? I can’t see how you view us as underdogs. Not in our words..,” he said.

Jansson’s words are interesting as many players may have embraced the underdogs label.

The £3.5 million centre-back (Express) seems to be inviting the pressure of Leeds being favourites to make the final though.

When Leeds and Derby met in the regular season, Bielsa’s men picked up six points from their two matches.
