Pontus Jansson has just been sold by Leeds United.

There may be no Leeds United fan or player who is more cut up about Pontus Jansson’s exit than the man himself.
Leeds sold the big Sweden centre-back to Brentford on Monday night, ending his three-year spell at Elland Road.
Jansson loved the Whites and, going by comments made in early June, the 28-year-old was really looking forward to what he claimed would be an ‘incredibly exciting year’ for United this season.
Speaking after Marcelo Bielsa committed his future to United for another year, Jansson, who alluded to problems with the Argentine coach in his farewell statement, told Fotbollskanalen last month.
“It means a lot to the club [that he is staying], he has changed the club in every way, both on and off the pitch, especially on [the pitch]. Now he gets another year and the players who are left know what it is about now. It will be an incredibly exciting year for Leeds.”
These are comments that’ll tug at the heart strings of many-a-Leeds fan, considering it illustrated his respect for Bielsa and how excited he was to get back to work.
Wearing a thousand-yard stare, the kind you see on battle-weary soldiers, Jansson sat alone on the pitch at an empty Elland Road long after Derby County ended their Premier League promotion dream in May.
Based on the above comments, the former Malmo star was champing at the bit to make amends for that failure, but now he never will.
