The 25-year-old is a big hit with Leeds United so far.

Pontus Jansson has told Swedish outlet Skanesport that he cannot wait to become a fully-fledged Leeds United player when he reaches 20 appearances.

The 25-year-old joined Leeds on a season-long loan from Italian side Torino in the summer.

Since then, the big Swedish centre-back has become a hugely popular figure among the Whites fans for his passionate style of defending and his rousing post-match comments on Twitter after a victory.

Jansson has made five appearances for Leeds – four of which have been wins – and the former Malmo man appears to be a quarter of the way through being a permanent fixture at Elland Road.

He revealed to Fotbollskanalen earlier this week that the Championship club would be contractually obliged to sign him outright if he reaches 20 appearances.

And when asked by Skanesport if he is keeping his fingers crossed over reaching that number, the defender said: “It’s the only thing I want!

“[There are] So many matches in the league and cups. I can potentially reach it before the new year.”

Leeds fans are bound to love how willing he is to stay in Yorkshire. He seems to be genuinely loving life at the club and it’s reflected in his performances.

Fans of any club ask commitment from their players first and foremost, and Jansson, so far, seems to have that in spades.
